The Witch Figure Again

I saw a thing on one of my other social networks which said, tell me you're a witch without telling me you're a witch. Other people were putting things like having lots of herbs, jars and candles but mine seem a little wild in comparison.

People don't understand the values which drive me, which can make my actions incomprehensible sometimes.

I do actually have jars, candles and other weird shit, but people think I've travelled a lot.

Strange things happen around me, almost as if people were being faced with their destiny.

People do pick up on the more psychic bits when I tell them what they're thinking.

Cows stop giving milk.

Just joking, I am a city person and the only time I go near a cow is in Tesco.

Weird Shit: the Terrifying Clown of Kingswinford

2020 has certainly been a wild ride and here is my favourite weird story:

Residents in Ploverdale Crescent, Kingswinford, have been terrorised by a bare-chested clown

A Black Country street has been gripped by the fears of a clown after residents claimed they are being terrorised by a bare-chested motorist in full circus make-up.

And police have been contacted by householders who say Bozo is in danger of making Ploverdale Crescent, Kingswinford, a no-go area.

According to residents, officers are tracing the footsteps of the rogue Big Top entertainer.

The bizarre spate of clown encounters is no laughing matter, say locals. They described the confrontations as "sinister". They have CCTV footage.

On Thursday, the individual approached a young couple delivering leaflets.

At first they thought he was on his way to a children's party. Then the red-nosed individual "stared out" the 19-year-old woman before guffawing in her face.

Her companion told Black Country Live: "He laughed like a clown."

The 20-year-old added: "He stared at my girlfriend for a minute or so and started to laugh like a clown.

"At first I just thought he was on his way to a children’s party or something, I didn’t see him that clearly.

"We tried to ignore him and carried on doing the leaflets, we tried to pay no attention to him to see if he would stop. But as we got closer, he got in his car and opened his passenger door and asked me if I was someone he knew.

"When I said no, he started laughing more. It was a scary experience for both of us. I went out last night and spent half the time looking over my shoulder."

The "victim" has provided a detailed description.

He added: "He was about 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing clown face paint, false clown teeth, no top on with a  black cap and joggers. He was laughing like a clown and had knife scars on his belly."

At 4pm on the same day, a paperboy in nearby Water Street was so shocked he cycled into a nearby park to escape.

His mother posted on a community forum: "My son phoned me to say what had happened - and kept the call going.

"As he approached Ploverdale, my son was hysterical. The clown stopped by him again. Myself and his dad ran after him, but he had gone by the time we got there. Police have been informed."

Another householder posted: "He was wearing false teeth or something like that in his mouth - scary!"

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police confirmed complaints had been received, but, as yet, there is no reason to believe a crime has been committed.

A rogue clown on the streets may be no laughing matter, but it's not an offence.

She added: "We received calls on Thursday about a man driving in the Kingswinford area either wearing a clown mask or with his face painted and allegedly intimidating pedestrians.

"Officers have been attempting to identify the driver. It is unclear at this stage whether any criminal offences have been committed."

Anyone who saw suspicious activity can contact the police at  www.west.midlands.police.uk  or by calling 101. Quote log 5201 of 17 September.

I'm not sure if my favourite bit is where the clown laughed like a clown or where the constabulary aren't sure if a crime has been committed. I also want to know why he had alleged knife marks on his stomach and how the person knew they had been caused by a knife.

How I Spent my Holiday

I spent it clearing the rubbish out of my life.

As we know this is one of the classical magical acts, and one I will freely admit to not doing often enough. I am already feeling the benefits in terms of a renewed focus and the universe is beckoning me onto the next step.

Years ago my Goddess mother (you didn't think I made this shit up myself did you) told me that witches hold mirrors up to people and give them the opportunity to correct karma. If they take it, all well and good but they have to take the consequences if they don't.

This is a mission from the universe or the divine and of course means that people either being ridiculous or in ridiculous circumstances get drawn into our orbit before they get the results of their own actions. Shame.

The very first tarot deck I bought was the ancient Italian tarot - I bought it because I liked it but at the time couldn't read with it and gave it away. I found one at a price I was prepared to pay and am bonding with it old school, by sleeping with it under my pillow.

When the pupil is ready the teacher will appear or disappear.

Oh, and my choice of Birmingham's dancing bin men is surely obvious. The ones in Wolverhampton are a pale imitation.

It is too safe only to put music videos up on your blog. Here is some real divine inspiration:

Spirit of Place: Durex from Birmingham

How come I didn't know there was/is a brand of sellotape called Durex?

Say Durex to someone British and as well as feeling slightly embarrassed they will think of the brand of prophylactic that is know owned by Reckitt Benckiser but used to be a product of the London Rubber Company.

Some of you might remember a routine that comedian Jasper Carrott performed in which he described seeing a racing car in Australia with Durex written on it as an advertising slogan. He relayed how he was perplexed that the Australian’s he was with didn’t find this as amusing as he did. He was then told that rather than being a brand of condom at the time Durex was a major brand of sticky tape in Australia, an Antipodean equivalent of 3M Scotch Tape or Sellotape.

I don’t know if you can still get it in Australia but an internet search suggests that Durex sticky tape is available in Brazil and that it is made by 3M who also make Scotch Tape. Source

I doubt it's still made in the Second City though.

Witch Ethics Again

I have been thinking of a phrase somebody used to me once - she referred to 'doing the right thing'. Up until a few years ago I would probably have resisted the idea of a fixed right thing to do, although would have wanted to look at underlying principles.

It will surprise everyone that I have even a vague awareness that professional negotiators can use underlying principles to cause two opposite factions to agree. However it will come as no surprise that I think people usually don't think about principles enough.

Those principles can also stop fake compliance to an assumed agreement.

Those principles are actually strikingly like what the witch works with all the time - the many layers and levels, unseen entities and realities.

Therefore witchcraft can also resolve differences and incompatibilities. But this won't be needed if the person does what is right to start off with and doesn't need the karmic bump.
