Spirit of Place: Ghetto Golf

Ghetto Golf is an attraction at the Custard Factory in the Digbeth area of the city. You can get blind drunk on the cocktails (when we went on our work do I had one called a Digbeth State of Mind, and if you know Digbeth it lived up to its name) and then try to play crazy golf in a graffitied course in an old warehouse. It is actually good.
It's hit the news in the Birmingham Mail this week because a porn film was made there just before it opened:
Porn stars got into the swing of things at Digbeth's Ghetto Golf crazy course - by filming an adult movie.
Customers were shocked to find hardcore scenes had been filmed at the indoor warehouse attraction, at The Custard Factory on Gibb Street.
Extreme sex acts were shot next to the first hole - a graffiti-covered novelty bus where partygoers would later sit at the wacky 18-hole and cocktail bar venue.
A spokeswoman for Ghetto Golf confirmed the venue had been used to film the porn movie but said it was a one off.

The spokeswoman said: "The company were aware the adult movie was filmed on the premises and there are no plans to allow any future explicit films to be shot on location at Ghetto Golf.
"This was the first and only adult movie filmed on location at any of our venues."
Ghetto Golf opened in October 2017 and has been a huge hit with customers.

It costs £10 for a round on the adult-themed course. The course combines crazy golf, graffiti, cocktails and street food.
The eye-popping and witty decor was the result of 130 Brummie graffiti artists turning a whitewashed warehouse into a work of art.
Every part of the walls and ceiling is covered in colourful designs.
Alexxa Vice, a new heroine
of mine, at Ghetto Golf
Personally I think the place was designed with porn in mind and only moonlights in the day as a golf place. I'm not sure that the customers will be shocked,as the venue is adults only and props the Mail couldn't bring themselves to mention include dildos and other sex toys. I really hope this increases business and would advise the owners to allow whole-venue bookings with, er, recording facilities.  What I like best is that the film in question is not exactly what you'd call vanilla (don't read any further if you are of a sensitive disposition):
Angel Long's "A Proper Mess" is the work of a filthy mind. As she provokes spit-soaked anal perversion from behind the camera, her running commentary heightens the nastiness, despite (and because of) her elegant English accent. Dominant Angel gags, slaps and fingers pale, natural Misha Cross. Angel shoves Misha's head down on Marc Rose's big boner for a BJ and then up his ass for a rim job. He buttfucks Misha into the floor as she eats Angel's pussy. Frank Cross spits in tattooed, pierced Alexxa Vice's face, and aggressive throat fucking creates cascading rivers of slobber. His stiff meat goes straight to anal. Foul-mouthed Sophie Anderson treats Antonio Black's big black cock to a graphic, deep-throat blowjob. Her enormous jugs jounce as he slam-fucks her sphincter; extreme sodomy comes with ass-to-mouth cocksucking, immense rectal gaping and deep pussy plowing. Angel and Mr Longwood each cram three fingers into naturally buxom Lucia Love's asshole at once. Slobber flows and her reddened eyes water. She gargles cum, blows bubbles and licks spunk from the floor to climax a slaphappy, slobbery interracial mess. Angel Long's "A Proper Mess" is a single-disc DVD with behind-the-scenes footage, cumshot recap, cast list and filmography.
This is not the first time the Mail has fulminated about porn being shot in private in otherwise public venues in the city.  Although on the other occasion it seems it was done in secret without the owners being aware:
Bosses at a Birmingham bowling alley, dubbed the perfect place for kids’ parties, have launched an investigation after hardcore porn was secretly filmed at the venue.
Sordid scenes of graphic sex involving two women and a man carrying bowling shoes were filmed at the PLS Bowling Complex in Stirchley.
When the Sunday Mercury showed the venue’s new management team stills from the footage, they pledged to leave no stone uncovered in the search for the culprits.
Martin Parsonage, who is in the process of taking over the Pershore Road building’s lease, said: “By hook or by crook, I will find out who is responsible.
“But I know there is nothing that can bring us or PSL into disrepute – because I know we were not involved.”
